BC Provincial Nominee Program -Skilled Worker/International Graduates category

Application Eligibility

BCPNP-Skilled Worker

  • Have accepted a full-time, indeterminate job offer at a wage that meets industry standards in skill type NOC 0, A, B
  • Employer must make applicant a full-time, indeterminate job offer
  • Employer must meet specific requirements which include operating in B.C. for at least 1 year and has at least 5 indeterminate, full-time employees (or full-time equivalents) if located within the Greater Vancouver Regional District. For employer located outside Greater Vancouver Regional District, it must have at least 3 indeterminate, full-time employees (or full-time equivalents) in B.C
  • Applicant must have minimum 2 years of directly related full-time (or full-time equivalent) work experience in the skilled occupation that has been offered to him or her, and, if applicable, the credentials and qualification requirements of the position
  • Demonstrate the applicant can support themselves and their dependents
  • Applicant must meet minimum language requirement and get at least English CLB Level 4 in all four competencies for skill type B
  • Have a wage offer in line with B.C. wage rates for the occupation. For details please refer to Job Bank

BC International Graduates

  • Completed a degree, diploma or certificate from an eligible post-secondary institution in Canada in the past 3 years
  • Accepted a full-time, indeterminate job offer (a permanent job, or one with no set end date) from a B.C. employer that typically requires a university or college education at a wage that meets industry standards. The job must be in a National Occupational Classification skilled occupation (Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B).

  • Employer must make applicant a full-time, indeterminate job offer
  • Employer must meet specific requirements which include operating in B.C. for at least one year and has at least five indeterminate, full-time employees (or full-time equivalents) if located within the Greater Vancouver Regional District. For employer located outside of the Greater Vancouver Regional District, it must have at least 3 indeterminate, full-time employees (or full-time equivalents) in B.C

  • Demonstrate the applicant can support themselves and their dependents
  • Applicant must meet minimum language requirement and get at least English CLB Level 4 in all four competencies for skill type B

If applicant graduated with a Master’s or Doctoral degree in the natural, applied or health science program within the past 3 years at a post-secondary institution in B.C., he/she can apply under the International Post-Graduate category without the job offer


Application Procedures

  • Eligible candidate must submit online registration to the BCPNP. Candidates who are in a B.C. Health Care profession and international graduate categories) do not need to register and may proceed directly to the application under via BCPNP online https://www.pnpapplication.gov.bc.ca/user/sign-in
  • Upon completion, applicant will receive registration score and enter a selection pool for the category in which he or she has registered. Once he or she receives a confirmation of registration email that includes BCPNP registration number, this means a successful registration submission. The registration will remain in the selection pool for a maximum of 12 months from the date of submission
  • The registration is free of charge. If applicants are invited to submit an application, they will be asked to pay a fee as part of the online application process
  • Periodically, the BCPNP will invite the highest-scoring registrants from each category to apply. For information about scoring factors, please refer to BCPNP Guide from page 60 to page 70
  • Registrants who are invited to apply will have up to 30 calendar days from the date of invitation to submit a complete application via the BCPNP Online system
  • If registrant’s application is approved, he or she will receive a nomination to apply to IRCC for permanent residence

Application Processing Time

The estimated processing time for regular BCPNP-Skilled Worker and BC International Graduates Program is 19 months. If applicants apply under Express Entry Program, the processing time will be shortened
